The Art Behind the Design

Every Studio Series piece is painted entirely by hand in our Michigan studio by artist Barbara Downey, using a process she has refined over nearly 30 years. The delicate mushroom details are painted freehand — organic, warm, and entirely unique to each piece. No two pieces are ever quite identical. That’s not a flaw — that’s the point.

The Frame

The white distressed finish gives the frame a soft warm quality perfectly suited to the sentiment within. Applied by hand, worn edges reveal warm wood beneath. The Studio Series uses more substantial wood than our Classic Series — you’ll feel the difference immediately.
