The Art Behind the Design

Every Hummingbirds earring holder is painted entirely by hand in our Michigan studio by artist Barbara Downey, using a process she has refined over nearly 30 years. The technique is entirely our own—part American folk-art tradition, part closely guarded studio secret. What begins as a blank screen becomes something you’ll want to look at every single day.

The Frame

The white distressed finish is applied by hand in our Michigan studio, giving each frame its own gently weathered character. Warm wood tones show through along the edges, complementing the bright flowers and green foliage. No two frames look exactly alike.
