The Art Behind the Design
Every Gazebo Jewelry Cabinet is painted entirely by hand in our Michigan studio by artist Barbara Downey, using a process she’s refined over nearly 30 years. The technique is entirely our own—part American folk-art tradition, part closely guarded studio secret. What begins as a blank screen becomes something you want to look at every single day. No two pieces are ever quite identical. That’s not a flaw—that’s the point.
The Frame
The white distressed finish is applied by hand in our Michigan studio—a deliberate process that wears the edges down to reveal the warm wood beneath. At 2.5″ deep, the Cabinet has a quiet presence on your wall, hinting at the storage within without revealing it. It feels like a beloved piece you’d find in a dusty, magical antique shop. Two pre-attached picture hangers on the felt-lined back are ready to mount securely and easily.
