The Art Behind the Design

Every Hydrangea Jewelry Cabinet is painted entirely by hand in our Michigan studio by artist Barbara Downey, using a process she has refined over nearly 30 years. The hydrangea bloom extends from screen onto frame — painted as one continuous garden composition. No two pieces are ever quite identical. That’s not a flaw — that’s the point.

The Frame

The weathered gray finish gives the Hydrangea Jewelry Cabinet a soft European elegance. Because this is a stain rather than a paint, the natural pine grain shows through completely — giving every frame its own unique character. No two weathered gray frames ever look quite alike. At 2¾” deep the Cabinet mounts flush to your wall with two attached picture hangers on the felt-lined back.
