The Art Behind the Design

Every Sea Turtles earring holder is painted entirely by hand in our Michigan studio by artist Barbara Downey, using a process she’s refined over nearly 30 years. The technique is entirely our own—part American folk-art tradition, part closely guarded studio secret. What begins as a blank screen becomes something you want to look at every single day.
